Hand Trucks In The Home

When using a Hand truck in your house, you have to take precautions that one does not have to be concerned with when using a hand truck in a warehouse. Scuff marks which are a non-issue in the warehouse become an issue at home, especially if you are doing a job for somebody else. We always want to avoid the possible complaints.

A hand truck is perfect for moving those heavy appliances around your home, but you really have to be careful. The hand truck is made up of metal, either steel or aluminum, and so is the appliance. The friction rubs metal on metal and you could end up scratching your brand new washing machine on the hand truck.

To prevent this kind of heartache, here is a simple solution. Take a piece of pipe insulation and cut it in half length wise. If you are in a generous mood take two pieces and make a slit downwards. Then take these two pieces and attach them to the side bars of your hand truck, using a strong tape to ensure that it won’t slip around during heavy use.

Although a hand truck has rubber tires and the rubber is soft, they have a tendency to pick up sand and grit. The grit then rubs into the floor, leaving marks and scratches behind. You will also need to protect the floor from the tires, especially if it is your brand new hardwood floor. One of the first things that you can do is to find a clean and flat piece of cardboard to put under the appliance. Disconnect the appliance beforehand and be sure to get every tube or cord connecting it to the wall before you try to pull it out of there. Tilt the appliance back and slide the cardboard underneath. Put another piece of cardboard down to protect the floor when going out the door.

A shorter path is best because when you are moving your hand truck along, the cardboard will shift and slip along the floor. You may have to stop in between to fix the path or get someone else to help you. Another option is to use drop cloth, which creates more friction with the wheels on the hand truck. The problem is that drop cloth is prone to shifting as well and you may get stuck as you go along.

Now don’t just say forget the whole hand truck think, I will just move mu appliances and furniture by hand. That can cause a lot more damage than using a hand truck. WE are talking about damaging your back and stressing your muscles. So just stick to that hand truck and follow the ideas here and you will be glad you did!!

A 2 handle steel hand truck is great to have in your garage in case the need arises. Some people prefer to use a continuous handle steel hand truck because they like the freedom that it offers .

To have a dream where you cannot move or talk can be a dream telling you that the time has come for you to finally address a problem in your life in order to regain some control over your feelings and your emotions in regard to a situation that is escalating beyond your control and is beginning to affect your feelings, changing your life and lifestyle.

The first step in overcoming your anxiety and fear is to try very hard to look at the problem as not quite so overwhelming that you’re rendered near helpless. Educate yourself not to look at the circumstances but believe that there is always hope and a way. And by you getting more involved, you can do something to change the outcome.

Many times, the reason people dream they cannot move or talk is the result of a memory experience or bad experience that goes back to their childhood. These were experiences that were emotional, traumatic and the memory is still with them. It’s not uncommon for serious experiences to embed into our memory for life as a constant companion, surfacing from time to time in both our wakened states and in our dreams. As a result, the memory often is triggered in dreams causing us to become speechless in the dream, completely unable to move, leaving us with the feeling that if one could only scream, talk or yell, we could escape the danger in the dream and bring the dream to a close.

In an addition to memories causing dreams where people cannot talk or move, it is not unusual to experience dreams where they cannot talk or move their bodies as a result of real life experiences they have had in the natural in their wakened states. These kinds of experiences are generally emotional or physically violent in nature, can be both verbal or physical or both. If the experience is strong or violent enough, the memory will linger rooted into the subconscious that often reappears over and over in our dreams. Over the years, I have talked to many people who suffered from these kinds of dreams and from what they have told me, the dream experience can be horrifying.

In addition to memories and past experiences, another reason for a person not to be able to talk, yell or scream in a dream can be the result of continually finding themselves feeling embarrassed or looked down upon for what they might have said or questioned for their actions; and this fear carries over into their dreams. This is a common trait with people who may stutter, are uninformed on a topic, have a speech impediment or become nervous and agitated when around certain toxic people who overreact emotionally in public outbursts of anger without much provocation or real justification.

Many times, people having dreams where they’re not able to talk, yell or scream in the dream occurs because of anger being transferred over from their awakened state into their dream life because of dislike toward a person in the natural or toward a person shown in their dream or a person who is symbolic of someone in the dream. This is usually a person the dreamer dislikes or remains angry with in the natural.

It is important to understand that with this type of dream, fear largely plays an important part, especially when the dreamer is rendered both partially paralyzed or completely paralyzed in a dream and cannot move about or is only able to crawl in the dream as a result of a fear they have in their wakened state likely because they do not have an answer to a situation or problem. They do not to know what to do in a particular situation which is resulting in a fear of rejection entering into the dreamer’s dream state.

Yet, a more common reason why dreamers are not to be able to talk, yell or scream in a dream can be a result of an experience in the natural where they were actually embarrassed and looked down on for something they had said or had done in the natural that so impacted them that the fear memory enters into their dreams. Haven’t we all been there. If there was only a way to make all those unpleasant memories fade away. Okay, it happened. So what. Nobody’s perfect; I’m a different person today. Think back and remember the person who caused you to feel that way. Not a very nice person, eh?

Often people who may not be feeling entirely confident in their knowledge on a discussed subject or who must function amidst a speech impediment do become agitated around the kind of people who also make others feel uncomfortable. These are the difficult persons who tend to continually behave with intense emotional outbursts as a response to almost anything or anyone.

You do realize, of course, that you’ve got the stuff, the real stuff that it takes, so just keep on talking; After all, we all stutter from time to time. So what. It’s normal. You must master your life by making choices, to be calmly confident; and when those moments arise, you’ll be right in the moment, and be ready.

My Prayer Of Jabez

In the past twenty years, of all the prayers found in the Bible, the Prayer Of Jabez is among an elite few of the most printed and quoted by Christians around the world. Without question, it is a beautiful prayer because God not only heard Jabez cry out, but answered his prayer and gave him what he asked for. This was not necessarily because Jabez had more faith than anyone else during that time, but because Jabez loved God with the same childlike love a child feels toward a loving father.

Since that day, millions possibly billions of well intentioned people have cried out to God with this same prayer.

In 1998, while meditating on the Lord, He brought the Prayer of Jabez to my mind. Although I knew the prayer and had prayed this prayer many times, I had never looked into the deeper meaning of the prayer. But within minutes, I heard the soft still voice of the Holy Spirit speaking to my heart, telling me that I was not Jabez but that the prayer also applied to me: For me to pray the prayer as He, the Holy Spirit, led me. Although I did not hear the voice aubibly, I nevertheless not only heard the words spoken by the Holy Spirit but saw the words in my spirit as the Holy Spirit spoke.

God is the same yesterday, today and tomorrow; He is never changing. We are all children, His children; the Prayer of Jabez still applies today. God hears our prayers and speaks to us in ways we will understand, when we pray from the heart. And if it is His will for our life, He will answer our prayer.

The Feet Feel Too

Realizing I may sound like a total New Age tool, I feel I have to argue for something called zone therapy, otherwise known as reflexology. I know what youre thinking: James, you’ve done it again. Yes, perhaps I have. But so what? This ancient therapy does not require the use of any special crystals or ethereal pan flute music. All that’s required is a semi-open mind and your bare hands and feet.

Reflexology is more than just a hand or foot massage, even though it is, well, a hand or foot massage. It’s all in the intention. A trained reflexologist knows which points on your hands and feet (and sometimes ears) correspond to which organs, joints, or bodily functions. For instance, the hollow of the foot is said to correspond to your stomach. Have a muscle cramp? Have that part of your foot rubbed.

This may sound like a pitch for snake oil, but the respected journal, Neuroscience Letters, claims that there is indeed a neural link between the brain and the foot. Of course, I would say, how else are we able to walk? Thanks, I’ll be here all week! But seriously, folks, there is something to be said for this form of therapy. I know because it worked for me. My chronic headaches, which bordered on migraines, have abated since I started getting my hands rubbed.

Weird, sure. Creepy, maybe. But the bottom line is it works for me. It could work for you. It’s like Tai Chi — some people swear they can feel the chi running through their bodies. Other people punch people like that in the stomach and laugh. It’s hard to say and I do sympathize with those of you who are creeped out by other people touching their hands and feet.

To that end, I recommend a handy, dandy foot massager. You can find models that are electric (and hence vibrating) or wooden (and do nothing but get mashed into your soft spots). The vibrating ones get the job done and even come with warm water jets and DVD players. I’m just kidding about the DVD players. Either way, it’s something that may work for some people out there, and if something works, why not give a try?
